And now I am sorry to butt in on your thread. But I would be very interested in the details of how and who you used to ship between Vancouver and Japan.

Thanks in advance

Any news on this? I heard there was a ferry from North Japan to Russia that could also go to Magadan- anyone know if this is running? I'd like to ride up Japan and then hit Magdan instead of going Vlad to Magdan if possible..

Thanks!

There is a ferry from Wakkanai, Japan to Korsakov, Russia.
WAKKANAI - SAKHALIN TIMETABLE - heartlandferry
It does not go to Magadan.
There is a cargo ship to Magadan from Vanino on the mainland, but I don't know if they take passengers (probably not).
Vanino - Magadan line

Thanks Chris! I had the Japan ferry details from one of your other posts, but not the boat to Magadan.

Their website is very up to date and I've sent them a note to get details, but they do have a boat that goes Karatov-Varnio-Magadan...

Thanks again for the info!
David

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
