Shipping crate question for Halifax Nova Scotia
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has recently flown their bike in a crate into Halifax Airport, Nova Scotia. If yes can you tell me if you were expected to dispose of the crate yourself?
(We are flying the bike in from the UK in 2 weeks).
Thanks

Hello,
We shipped two bikes into Montreal last year with Air Canada.
Unfortunately you have to remove the crate from the terminal before you un-pack it. It's all to do with the dreaded health and safety BS.
We got help from the ADV forum, a guy called Kirk picked us and our crates up in his truck and helped us unload at his place.
We got a quote for $180cd from a freight company to move them but you will get help from the ADV inmates if you ask nicely.
The good news is that it's dead easy to clear customs, all are friendly and it only cost about $40cd to proses. If you are looking for bike insurance, try Progressive on line in the US.
All the best
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your answer. I will put on my best smile in the hope someone is kind enough to help us. Also thanks for the info on motorcycle insurance. We got our insurance from them last week.
Hi Andy,
Pleased to be of assistance. Have a great time.
