Not too bad of prices, LCL (less than container load) means that it'll be consolidated into a container along with a bunch of other goods. I would guess that they will require crating as well and given that one doesn't really know what else is going in that container, he will probably want that as well.
As I'm sure he no doubt knows, depending on the country of arrival there are additional port and other fees to receive by sea (and air, although the air ones are more straighforward and typically a lot less) so if possible it would be good to get an idea of what those would be to compare the total cost landed and cleared by sea and by air.
Once done, in many cases the cost differential is small enough that once a person factors in the time to ship and the unpredictability of arrival date, air seems to be more advantageous overall. If a person has more time than money though or is looking forward to relaxing for a month somewhere while the bike is in transit, then ocean is a great option.
