Shipping Malaysia - Mongolia / anyone done this?

Hi there,

we are currently entertaining the idea of shipping our bikes from Malaysia to Mongolia as we've decided not to play the paperwork game the Thai authorities are implementing at the moment.

I know, the more logical way to go would be something like KL -> India but Mongolia back to Europe looks quiet tempting as well.

So far I've got 2 quotes from shipping companies in Singapore and their estimates are through the roof. £10,000 for 2 bikes. No way!

Does anyone know of any companies that facilitate this route or has anyone done it for a better price that i've been given?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

euam

Vague information

Hi.

We met a German guy in Timor. He flew from Mongolia to Nepal. They might fly elsewhere too, worth a shot.

Air Cargo LLC I've tried to attach a photo of the details on this reply.

We're interested to see if you find anyone to get to Mongolia as we're very keen on going that way. At the moment we're thinking flying kl to Nepal then fly to Mongolia.

Quick Update,

we managed to find an shipping company in Kuala Lumpur that will finally ship our Bikes in a container to Mongolia. Price is reasonable and cheaper than sending the Bikes LCL.
If anyone is still interested we are looking to ship within the next 2 weeks. Price will be less than 1000$ per bike (the more the cheaper) and transit time will be 20-25 days.

Mind sharing the info for shipping from SE Asia to Mongolia? I'm looking at shipping from KL to Nepal, but KL to Mongolia is definitely very tempting!!! Mongolia is amazing. Thank you!

Hi travel Bug Blues,

The company was one of the only ones we found that was actually replying and had a genuine interest in helping us.
We ended up getting a whole container for 3500 USD/all in. Taxes, strapping in etc for 4 bikes.
Ken was our guy and he was really helpful getting everything organised.
We'll hopefully be reunited with our bikes next week and once i know how much on extra charges are on the mongolian side i'll post a full Shipment report on here.

Good Luck on your DR. Best bikes ever

Find company details below.
