Shipping motorcycle from Sydney to Santiago (Chile) by airplane
During my Round The World 2013 , I have to ship the bike from Sydney to Santiago (Chile).
I found here on HU only one address of a forwarding agent between Sydney and Santiago: Unit 9, 2-12 Beauchamp Road - Botany, NSW 2019 - Tel: 02 9316 9500 - mchristmas@btilogistics.com.au
but but that address is not active.
Then I sent the request to another email address that I have found on that site ( fparakh@btilogistics.com.au ), who read my mail but did not respond.
Does anyone have information but also other shippers between Sydney and Santiago?
thanks

this company is actually in Melbourne, but I used them in Apr-08 to ship my bike by sea from Sydney to Helsinki. They had a partner company in Sydney, and I could handle everything there. I remember they got me several quotes for airfreight, too, and generally seemed very professional, and just the kind of guys, with whom you might be able to agree on things beforehand, and expect it to work as planned. I don't know, if they can send stuff to South America, but it won't hurt to ask:

Thanks; responded to me yesterday.
It seems that sending the bike to 10,000 kilometers of the Pacific Ocean between Australia and Chile is easier for through a 100 km stretch of sea between Malaysia and Indonesia!
Although obviously more expensive, but I knew that.
Are already working for a quote, we have already agreed to the measure of the crate.

I have been pricing seafreight for this route but would be interested to know a few details about this airfreight route as its a potential for me early in the new year. Any additional info such as actual contact address, price and time would be greatful.
Cheers

Of course, as soon as I receive an estimate by the shipper give other information, in addition, of course, after the trip I will report how it went.
The shipper with which I am in contact is BTI Logistics BTi Logistics | Sea Freight | Air Freight | Warehousing | Customs Brokerage | International Freight Forwarders (headquartered in Melbourne), in particular this email ahmet.koc@btilogistics.com.au

I'm sorry, I was referring to the company that I mentioned above, not to the company that you wrote.

Here (where I indicated earlier) asked me the cash, but I have not their estimate. As soon as I will alert news.
But you're in Perth! I'll arrive in Perth from Kuala Lumpur, with a flight of MASkargo, see topic: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ustralia-67106
I will do 10,000 km in Australia in November 2013, from Perth to Sydney! , during my Round The World 2013.

Well, I got a quote from Australia: 4,986 AUD (€ 4,020) for the flight of my bike up in Santiago, Chile, including the crate of measure, custom, etc...
Considering the size (261.5 x 95.5 x 140) and weight (450 kg) of my bike, I feared worse.
I now have estimates for all 4 flights I have to do during my RTW. I can concentrate on the rest of the preparation. Obviously if I get better estimates will alert.
