Uzbekistan to Europe
Hi. In Central Asia, Tashkent is the city with the most international flights.
We shipped our bikes from Tashkent to Zurich via Frankfurt, with the help of Lufthansa Cargo.
Who?
The man to talk to is Sergej Tumansejew, a very friendly bloke who speaks good english. Phone 120 74 05 (can't remember area code for Tashkent, or country code!).
e-mail: sergej.tumansejew@dlh.de
Directions?
When you drive to the airport you will go over a bridge just in front of the airport. On the middle of this bridge you can take a right. Continue a couple of hundred metres and make a U-turn. Take the first street to the right and you will have a big grey wall on your left side, and a few hundred metres ahead you find a parking area on your left side, this is where they are.
Packing the bike?
You have to get into the main ware house that all air freight companies use. You do this by getting permission from the big boss Mr Sattor. Once in, he can help you finding a guy that can build a bok or a platform for you. We got help from Valerey (or something like that). We paid 50 USD per bike.
Customs?
Sergej at Lufthansa will tell you where to go and how to do it.
We managed to get everything done in 5 hours, we were impressed ourselves!
