Question Exhaust

I am in the process of purchasing an '07 America right now through a local dealer and am very excited about my new bike. That said, I'm the kind of guy who loves to have a loud machine, and have been sweating a little bit about the kind of pipes to get for it. My last bike was a Honda Shadow 600, which I had equipped with some Hardkrome pipes, which sounded great, and I want my triumph to sound as good, or better than, that. So, the dealer talked me into getting the short pipes which are produced by Triumph. Sooo, my question is, am I going to really be satisfied with that, or is there some aftermarket company that I should really consider going with? I've heard a lot of horror stories about some of the aftermarket companies (mostly from my salesperson), and don't want to end up with pipes that sound like crap, or just don't make a lot of noise. My Honda didn't sound like a Harley or anything, but it sounded good, so I don't need the "perfect" pipes, but would like some that really bring the sound out of the engine.

Dont own a triumph but remember being at the triumph hinckley tour last year and when we finished went out side someone was on an 05 or 06 Amercia with some sort of after market cans. I believe they where triumphs own as he worked there so he probably would have got them cheap.

What did they sound like?? Very nice a deep rumble on tick over and then loud bark when up the rev range a bit more.

I was told by a few owners off all different triumphs that the best aftermarket cans if not for the sports triumphs are there own.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
