compliments on a great forum, but where are the photos
Compliments to you Grant and all the moderaters. It really is a good site and I have been addicted for a year now.
An idea is to have a section for links to photos of travels, bikes, luggage systems etc instead of coming across them now and then. I dont know if its possible but would be popular for sure. I am asuming you dont have space to have the photos on the site.

Hi Andy,
Glad you like it, thanks from me and all the moderators!
The photos idea is something we have in mind, but it will be a while. Space is a consideration for sure, it does cost. We are currently at 260mb on the server, over 300mb it will cost more. We will be using the remaining space up soon anyway, and pictures will bump us up fast. So yes it is a cost matter, but we hope to deal with it somehow.
The really hard part is a good way of uploading them and ensuring we don't get the wrong kind of pic.
But we are working on that, so stay tuned!
Note that I have started a panniers page off the tech section, and would like more pics to put in there.
Also if you upload a pic to one of the photo sites you can link to it in the hubb and it will show up.
thanks for the feedback! Ideas get moved up a notch when people ask...

Andy
We do have some space considerations, the site just hit 300 MB yesterday which will cost us an extra $10 each month. Of more concern is that we went from 200 MB to 300 MB in less than 3 months on this host, which is a scary rate of growth. So, we will have to think carefully about the impact of letting people upload pics.
But, try this as an alternative, if the image exists on the web (on your own site or a picture gallery site). Use the UBB Code to refer to a pic, and it will display the image in the post.
See this link and search on 'Adding Images' for syntax:

See the result at the end of this post.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
