Getting post Quotes to work
Happy new year to all of you
Yes, there's been better years than 2020 - for me anyway. Anyone here have a positive 2020, where, despite the bug and all the restrictions and everything else that happened, the year worked out well for them? A year they'll remember for positive rather than negative reasons?
nothing particularly positive happend in 2020 but to give a small glance into life her in the middle of the North Atlantic:
Living in Iceland, i am not allowed to complain. We are still in good health, still have our jobs and more freedom then many others. Yes there are restrictions and no we couldn´t do all the things we planned and wanted to do but in our part of the country it has been more or less life as usual. By far the most cases have been in the capital city of Reykjavik and since we live on the other side of this island we only had very few cases. Iceland didn´t had a lockdown, we have all the time been free to travel inside the country and even the borders to Europe where open all the time although with restritions. Let´s hope 2021 will be a better year for international travel.
Question: how do you guys and girls manage to get the quote into a highlighted column ?

Press the quote button. That'll put the whole quote into your reply. You can edit it down by selecting whatever you want to get rid of and deleting but you must make sure you have the initial quote bit and the final slash quote part. That's the word QUOTE in brackets at the beginning and the end. Leave either of them out and the words will still appear but not in highlighted form.
Get it right and you get -
Get it wrong and you get -
Text appears like this

I think you're missing the end
If it doesn't end with that it doesn't work
You need this -
at the start and the one above at the end.
Can't find a fingers crossed smilie

backofbeyond is right, it's got to have the quote and /quote around the text, both in square brackets [ ]
If you're not seeing them, at the top right of the little box you type in is a/A - that's the button to see the code of what you're doing. That might make it clearer for you.
hope that helps!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
