Grant+Susan to Canada
Don't really know where to post this...
Susan and Grant have decided to move back to a sparkling Canada from grimey London. This will make no visible difference to HU people, for HU continues as strongly as before. Yet I for one feel a sense of loss nevertheless.
They have spent a long time in the UK, working on a successful HU and will continue to do so from Canada, and will no doubt appear at many HU meets.
Perhaps only those tottering greybeards with their GSs and Africa Twins from HU's early days will feel the history of the site, from that garden in southern England to what it has become today - the premier site for international moto/4x4/and bicycle overlanding. Others may think HU is like the weather, always there, and appearing without the hand of man or woman. And that's OK too, as long as they tune in here in droves - and they do.
So a new chapter in the book of HU organisers begins, and I want to wish Grant and Susan all the best in Canada, and look forward to seeing them and the fruits of their work at an HU meet somewhere this year. HU has no geographical address, in a way - so bring on the world!
But I'll miss seeing that distinctive white BMW parked at the side of a European field somewhere...now it's running on maple syrup.....

Grant+Susan will still be coming every year to UK and Europe!
Well, we haven't really disappeared off the planet. Just to Vancouver to be closer to family.
We do miss the UK and all our friends there, but we've now got British passports, so we can come back whenever we want!
We will be at the HU Ireland, Germany, Ripley and the HUMM events this year, and possibly others depending on logistics, so hopefully we'll see many of you there!
See you this summer!
Susan & Grant

Welcome home Grant & Susan (that sounds odd from an Englishman living in Canada)!
If you're passing through Canmore Ab, please drop by, there's always a BBQ and a pint waiting.
Regards
Nevil

North Van.
Aw, you just made me very homesick for East 20th Street, North Vancouver. I am very envious of you. Best wishes, Lindsay.

Also born and bred Londoner, but take off the 'rose tinted specs', London is a shite'ole and getting worse!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
