Lost existing uploads
Grant - previously uploaded files, like my waypoints file in the sticky at the top of the Northern Asia section, have disappeared, or at least the link to them has failed.
I tried to edit the post to re-upload the file (maybe the links changed) but the Advanced Editing feature also seems not to work.

A couple of other issues related to that - I am unable to even simple edit posts (let alone advanced edit) ... It allows editing, but then refuses to save the edited version.
The upload feature completely doesnt work - I tried a new post to upload the file, and drew a blank (no response from the upload button)

Editing - not sure what the issue is there - I just did a bunch of testing with my user level id, and it works perfectly for me, advanced, editing, attachments etc, all good. Tested on IE 9 and FF11 on PC.
Several others have uploaded attachments since your post, so it's working for them - there's new 30 files in 15 folders, so that's 15 people uploading ok.
What browser etc are you using? Try logging in and out and in again - solves all sorts of issues! Adn also try it form the home page, not the hubb - that MIGHT make a difference - I only have one user where that did, so no proof on it yet.

Grant,
Attachments added before the site revamp are still missing it seems.
Are they all lost and need to be added again?
I write this just an hour after your post, so I may just be jumping the gun and it is being fixed as I type. If not...

yes, thanks for confirming that - I've been looking at it, and they're actually there, all half a gig worth, but there's a problem with the path I need to figure out.

Editing posts works fine for me on my work PC. W7/latest IE. I was editing a new post I'd just written after the site revamp. Haven't tried to edit an old post. Will try that now.
However I have slightly different user rights to Walter.
PS. I can edit old posts: see post #2 at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...923#post376775 It might be a user rights issue....

Thanks Chris, I'll check int that more thoroughly. I DID test with my "just another user" persona, and it worked 100%. I'll need to create a new fresh user. Next!

We DO have a few issues, but so far very few, so it's generally looking very good.
For those who are having trouble, I suspect not all the new site has been downloaded for some users - loads of people have no trouble, Walter and one other have similar troubles as above. A very few have other issues, but I think we're just about sorted on them too. Contact me at the Contact Us link and let me know what's happening if you have trouble and I'll do my best to help you, or post here if possible - perhaps other users can help too.
Best suggestions for just about all issues:
1. login, then logout, then login again. Preferably on the home page not the HUBB - MAY be a difference.
2. Force a refresh of the home page and the HUBB page: shift F5 or shift and click the refresh button on whatever browser you have.
3. Just for fun try a different browser. Personally I like Firefox, and Susan prefers IE9 but try anything you like other than what you're using. Everyone should have at least one different browser anyway! Once you have confirmed it works or doesn't in the other browser we'll have something really useful to go on.
Hope that helps, and thanks for YOUR help and patience while we make this huge transition!
Grant

Logging out and back in fixed the attachments invisibility issue for the most part is seems.
Still can't see Walters signature picture, though.
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...pic14949_1.gif gives a question mark icon (or whatever the technical term is for that error).
This may be an issue with other signature pics, but I don't know who else uses them. Thus, I cannot check for you.

Fixed! Thanks for pointing that out! There aren't many, but all done. Seems like there's always something you miss... actually I wouldn't mid if I missed one or even two, but 5 or six is aggravating!
someone once said: "there's two things you forget when you get old... one's your memory, and I forget the other one."

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
