New Website
The new website looks good but it is a little harder to navigate but maybe I just have to get used to it.
Where is the "last 24 hours" button for the HUBB ? I used that a lot.

Yes, it's different - and does take getting used to! The idea is it's MUCH easier and more logical for newbies. And the experts will quickly figure it out. We hope!
Last 24 hours is still in the same place. When logged in it's the "New Posts" button in the blue bar below the "Welcome..." box, and when not logged in it's "Today's Posts" in the same place, but no options, it only gets the last 24 hours.
So registering has benefits - more options!

I like it :-)
Hi Grant and Susan,
I really like the new look, it's very aspirational and really sets the mood. Mega menus are great! I just visited today for the first time in a while. When did you go live?
1. There is a problem with signing in. From front page, main login works across the site, but signing in to reply to a forum post forces a loop with no log in and no way of commenting. I think you may have a domain access or cookie issue which needs your attention.
2. Navigation to HUBB is not obvious. Change Connect to social media stuff maybe and make HUBB a menu item in its own right? Too early to ignore google plus???
3. I read other comments complaining about screen width and wondered why you had not been really brave by going fully responsive or supporting a separate mobile site. Does vBullitin support this yet?
All the best,
Paul

First I've heard of this exact issue - but with any login issue, try logging in, then out, then back in - that should clear the cookie and it should work fine. I put a big note at the top of the forum about login issues - not everyone will have the issue, but some will. Thanks for letting me know about this exact one - I do see that you managed to post in the end - what solved it?

We debated this a lot - the HUBB link is on the quicklinks - the black bar just below the main menu text at the top of the mega-menus. Whether to give it it's own mega-menu - well like I say we had a lot of debates with many people! We may drop Home and put HUBB instead. Does everyone know to click the logo and go to home? Not sure!?
Absolutely not ignoring google plus - will be there shortly.

We WERE fully responsive - but we ended up going this way for a ton of reasons and much debate. vBulletin does NOT support a separate mobile site well. It's a really horrible piece of software to work with, and we're integrated with Drupal which makes it harder still. We do have a mobile style throughout which seems to work well, certainly good on Android, and ok on Iphone, iPad etc. We will also have tapatalk on the HUBB soon, when we've caught up with a few other things and made sure this is all working well. Too many new things at once is a nightmare to fix if there's an issue.
Thanks for the comments - all good stuff and very much needed - without feedback we have no idea what to do!

"I do see that you managed to post in the end - what solved it?"
Logging in from the front page fixed it - trying from within vBullitin got me nowhere.
"We debated this a lot - the HUBB link is on the quicklinks"
I didn't even notice this until you pointed it out. Useful nav item which people will get used to but not good enough for the mighty HUBB which should definitely have it's own mega menu linking popular boards, popular threads, last 24 hours etc.
"Does everyone know to click the logo and go to home?"
Unfortunately no they don't, although a breadcrumb is a good compromise.
Of vBullitin. "It's a really horrible piece of software to work with, and we're integrated with Drupal which makes it harder still."
I have not worked with vBullitin but understand that you are too far in to change before they do. I can say from experience that Drupal 7 with the Omega Theme is a breeze for mobile - an absolute joy in fact. And yes I am sure that you have enough on your hands with this roll out. Well done!
I like tapatalk and wish all my favourite forums supported it.

Love the new site design
I love the new website design and I'm going to say it, I was in dire need of a facelift.
Great design and aside from the usual teething issues, I think you and the team have done a fantatic job.
Keep up the thankless work!

I think it looks great! The old one was too cluttered for my taste. I like the new background, too. Very nicely done.

Hi,
I miss the link to the "Posts last 24 hours"
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...daily&hours=24
and i would love if the page with the new posts would finaly be able to be updated using F5. I allready told you a few years ago you could simply ad a script or forward using PHP insted of giving out the error message
"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. "
<script language="javascript">
<!--
function weiterleitung() {
window.location.replace("http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/search.php?do=getdaily&hours=24");
}
setTimeout("weiterleitung()", 1000);
// -->
</script>
No change on the page needet just give out the script insted the error message or both...
Greetings, Tobi

Interesting - I'll add that to the possible enhancements list for later - right now too much else to sort out. And the less mods we do to the HUBB the easier it is to upgrade/fix/patch/debug, but if anyone else says yes to this then it goes up the list.
Thanks!

Is there an obvious reason why the message editing buttons don't work: insert link, insert image... in fact none of them appear to work or the smilies.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
