Picassa problems
Folks,
twice now I have posted threads with pictures from Picassa in them. The pictures appear in the preview, when I add the post or reply the pictures are there... Then as if by magic they disappear when I check back later??????
I have now deleted post, but it is getting embarassing. The problem does not occur on other forums (which have absolutely identical procedures and seem to be the same software). Help would be appreciated or I will never dare to put photos up again! Weird problem,
Gil

If you're not logged on to your HUBB account, the images don't show. Some forums require you to be logged on to have certain privileges and some don't. Next time, check you are logged on and see if it makes a difference.

gilghana1, please post a picture here so I can see what the problem is. It SHOULD work fine! We have 2500 photos plus in the HUBB last time I looked, and they seem to be ok.
You need to be registered and logged in to upload them of course, but anyone should be able to see them.

Grant
I just went and checked this because I know I can't always see images.
For me, in Explorer, if you're not logged in, you CAN view all images. But in Firefox, if you're not logged on, you CAN'T always view them.
For example, in this thread - http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ur-photo-30481- on the first page, I can only see the images in posts 2, 3, 4, 6, 13, and 14 in Firefox if I'm NOT logged in. All the other posts show the images as a link which are displayed within a box labeled 'Attached Images' and showing the file size and number of views. The exception is post 5 which is just a link.
In Explorer, I can see all images whether I'm logged in or not.
This issue must be a combination of which browser you are using, how you upload the image and whether you're logged in.

Dakota, you are officially weird!
I just discovered that the default for "UNregistered / NOT logged-in" usergroup setting for vBulletin was that they can't see/download "attached images". All groups should be able to see pictures when logged in.
Where it's confusing is that if the image is not uploaded to the HUBB but is hosted remotely, everyone can see it always.
So I have now changed the default setting so that all users can see all pictures always - in theory. Sorry, I hadn't seen that before! So if you can't see images now, let me know - and give me the url and browser and logged in status!

Thanks Grant, I love you too .
I can see the images on that thread now in both browsers without logging in. I use more than one computer but only 'surf the net' on one of them, so I've probably never logged on to the HUBB on the one I tested it out on this morning.
Hopefully that will have resolved the problem for gilghana1 too.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
