I'd love to help, but I need MUCH MORE EXACT details of exactly what's happening. It all works fine for me and lots of other people, so somethings wrong on your computer.
I'm shooting in the dark here without more information, so here's a common problem/solution that might help:
1. Can't see the post you just made: It's there, but your browser/isp is caching the old page - FORCE a REFRESH by holding down the SHIFT key and clicking REFRESH / RELOAD button.
2. Go to the FAQ - link on blue bar above the posts:
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...php?faq=vb_faq
and have a good read to get the basics on using a bulletin board - lots of very good tips in there that will help a lot, even for an experienced user.
If you're still having trouble, be very explicit with the problem - you're on page x (url=http:///www.horizonsunlimited.com.hubb/ etc) and click on y and get message Z. I need it all or I haven't a hope of figuring out what's wrong.
hope that helps!
Grant

In Internet Explore (or whatever) go to -> Options
then -> Internet Options
And then -> Delete Cookies and Temp Internet Files
Then close down your Browser, reopen it and all should be well, if not post me your login details with grants permission and I will debug the code for you, but I bet you £'s that the problems with your browsers cache.

Help wanted! :)
We could use several people - but there's very little money to pay them, so volunteers are always hugely appreciated for particular jobs.
A real whiz in the right area might get paid if necessary for something special. A part timer who's good and wants to work really cheap would be great!
Mostly I do it, or Jeff does the really seriously tech stuff, and yes he gets paid. I have a very part time assistant who does some basic routine stuff cheap, and Susan helps a lot with organisation, editing the ezine, the accounting, meetings and much more in her spare time. We average 60-70 hours a week each, and we're so far behind it's depressing - good news is we're getting there! Progress is visible!
What we need is any of:
1. good computer knowledge / internet experience with html skills and excellent English writing skills, best onsite in London, but others useful too.
2. Drupal experience
3. PHP / MySQL skills
4. One thing we'd like to do (many requests) that could be done by anyone with spare time and decent computer skills is create "e-books" - a compilation of everything on say XT's, or Thailand, or Argentina, and put into a pdf and sold for say $5-10. Someone has to do the compilation, and we'd be happy to share the proceeds. Not everyone wants to do all the work - or has the time or skills - of searching for it, and a $5-10 pdf would be great!
On another area, we're planning to do two or three DVD's this year but we need people to help.
1. Video - movie type skills - paid. (for a new DVD)
2. Sound - as above
The site has grown enormously, now pushing 30,000 pages, and lots of conversion work from old static pages to new dynamic pages to do, and the meetings are growing and so is all of it - fantastic, we're tickled pink, but it's a lot to do with a small income, so it's slower than we'd like.
There's always stuff to do, so if you're interested anywhere please let me know.
We greatly appreciate all the fantastic information you've all put in over the years, it's helped a whole new bunch of travellers get on the road and have fantastic trips, meet a lot of new people, and make great friends.
Thanks!
Grant and Susan

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
