Got Me An XT600 At Last!
Well finally I can start to get involved, got me a xt600e, a 1997 3tb after much thought because i want to get started on the whole greenlane thing and maybe moving up to a couple of trips abroad.
Any pointers on where to start and have i chosen the right bike?
Bought it to slow myself down really and just get involved!

Congratulations Nicky !!! and welocome to the HUBB
You can probably start by taking a look at the Get Ready forum. Don't worry too much about the bike......the xt is as good as any.
Hope you get lots of fun out of it
Cheers

Hi, take care.
Hi, good choice. Just be careful not to use a banned track and have the bike impounded, which can happen. The UK is definitely not pro off road bike use. Lindsay.

Hi Nicky.
Like you I've jumped into the XT gene pool with a '99 600E.
Only had it a few days, but am pretty certain that it's going to be a laugh.

Be prepared for the odd tumble off road, junked the dual purpose tyres and bought a set of mitas knobblies, much more confidence inspiring on muddy rutted tracks!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
