Greetings and Respect from Portugal
Hi all, first congratulations for this great place that's HUBB.
I'm Marco and I'm a 100% Portuguese motorcycle addict... I don't imagine live without riding. I'm a every year rider, I never add a car and I think the bike I have now is my 15/16 one... I've lost the count. I've made some trips in my short live and hope to do much more in the remaining 102 years of live ehehehe...first big trip was a solo in 2009 Portugal/Spain/Andorra/France/Italy(short incursion)/Switzerland and back, around 5000km...I like to wake up in the morning and ride from Lisbon to Jabugo in Spain just for take the breakfast (600km trip) and my last adventure was last October when I made Lisbon-Barcelona-Genéve non stop in 36 hours on a Kawasaki 1500 Drifter just to visit a my "brother" that was needing for some support. I'm the founder of a Club that's call Viking Ravens and last month I've sold my kawasaki VN1500 Drifter aka "Poderosa" because this is not easy in Portugal but because I can't live without a motorcycle ( I don't now if I already say this) I just bought and now on the process of bring her to live a 1988 Kawasaki GTR 1000 Concours aka "Old Langskip" that I hope will make many more km of life with me in the future. Well that's all for now and hope some day we can drink a pint somewhere in this world.

Thinking of passing through Portugal on the way back from West Africa in a month. How's the weather in April?

Hi,
Thanks for your comment on my introduction post, made in perfect Polish (however I suppose that it was Google Translator who did a good job
I certainly not only will be riding close to Lisbon, but even visiting Lisbon, in last week of April this year (2014). We will be in 3 motorcycles, 5 people. We do not need an accommodation, because we stay in hotels. However, maybe a short or longer ride together around Lisbon? We will come to Portugal from Gibraltar. In our plans there is Algarve as a must, Lisbon as a must, Sintra and Cabo da Roca (we are collecting the farests ends of Europe).
Let me contact you closer to the date of our journey, and if in that time you will not be too busy with your work, jump on to your Kawa and show us some Portugal roads. If not, at least recommend some places to visit e.g. restaurants.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
