Greetings from Fife
Hi
I have just joined after lurking for 6 months or so.
I am a retired 64 year old and got back into bikes early this year.
I have had a couple of tours already and hoping to hook up with mature
or retired folk who do a bit of motorcycle travel on this forum.
Got a few plans for Morocco and Turkey and will post them over on the
travellers seeking travellers section.
Anyway hopefully see you on the road
regards
Steve

Steve.
The crash stats here say you are very likely to have a crash ... older people getting back into motorcycling are not use to the way traffic deals with them, thinking they will be treated the same as when they are in their car. The other thing is the performance increase of the new bikes over the older bikes - faster acceleration and deceleration. Please take care.

Good. The stats here suggest that someone who has held their motorcycle license and not ridden for some years then starts riding again is at significant risk. I'd think that would be the same for drivers who gain a motorcycle license without some significant training on the motorcycle aspects. Some places have good training for new motorcyclists, others don't.
Good luck with the search, and travels.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
