Hello

Hi there and greetings from sunny Manchester, England,
My wife and I are currently in the process of clearing these shores next year riding a pair of XT600,s RTW
We are both experienced bike riders in Europe and the time is right for going that bit further.
IE the mortgage is paid
This site is so good its hard to think of anything to post because all the questions I had have been asked and answered

Bienvenidos

Good to see you here, Mr Manchester, and even better to see you're seriously under-way with your great escape. Now stop fannying around and order a couple of new Teneres, brother...

Suerte, Dan

Welcome to HU, I am a fairly new memeber too and i have found many answers to my questions here.

It seems that many people are choosing the XT600, fot RTW trips. its a great machine in my opinion too... what type of panniers are using Jabez for your trip?

Good luck on your trip, keep us posted while you re on the way ......

Welcome

Pete, Welcome aboard, HU and the HUBB are great places to get a feeling for the planning required for your intended trip. Do you have an outline of your route as yet? Chris

Jabez, now that's a good old fashioned name.
I know it's not your real name but anyway I came across a relative with the name of Jabez when I did my family history.
Welcome to the site.

Thanks Chris, this site is just fantastic, so many questions answered without asking.
As for the plan, the plan is not to have one mate, 5 continents I believe.
Depending on whether Iran is an ashtray next year we would like to see Iran, all I hear about the place is good.
If its to unstable we shall go through Africa and then ship the bikes to India, Then down through Asia and possibly to Oz as I have a brother there near surfers beach, Then ship the bikes to South America, and then?

Thanks Martin, I know XT,s well and can repair one with my eyes closed, we already have the 1st one and I took the wife on the Yamaha off road school in Oct, She loved it so that was one worry set to rest. She is a very experienced biker having rode to Southern spain and Mugello in Italy on her 1000cc Fazer, but hey the dirt is a different animal, Pete

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
