Hi from Australia - well in Beijing atm.

Hi guys,

Just joining but have been using the website for a while for research. Right now I am in Beijing and about to head on the Transmongolian to Moscow for a bit, then flying to London where I am buying a bike to ride around Europe for about 8-10 months, then freighting it to South America to meet up with some friends there and we are going to ride there for about 6 months.

I have a video blog at www.thegreatgallivant.com which I update every week. I am going to also do a more detailed, motorbike oriented ride report here once I get the bike.

I arrive in London in a fortnight to buy the bike. I have spent a while researching and have a British license waiting for me at my mums house, which was a mission and a half to get, but will allow me to register and insure the bike. Luckily I have a British passport that has made this easier and was part of why I chose London.

Cheers, Jackson

Hi. Welcome. Bear in mind you'll be arriving in northern Europe in mid winter. Remember the long-johns.

Cheers, yeah wearing the long johns already. It's was a nice -2 or so at the great wall yesterday. Going to invest in a heated vest. Lowest temp I have ridden in so far is 4 degrees.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
