Hi from South Wales (UK)
Hi all,
New boy here.
Been a lurker and a reader for quite a while, but htought it's about time I joined in.
Been riding bikes for about 20 years, but over no real great distances, just over most of Wales & England.
I have many hobbies and have just sold an American Muscle Car. Well, I say sold, I have swapped it for another car of lesser value and another bike.
The bike os going up for sale as it's a very similar model to what I currently own and I intend to get somehting to do a few decent miles on, so I thought it was about time I joined and got, and give (hopefully) some useful information.
I'm just a regular 40 something with a 9 - 5 job with loads of dreams, and hopefully some will soon be realised.
Cheers for listening (Reading)
Wayne

I like that 'a lurker and reader' that's me. I don't ride but would like to one day perhaps. But I like traveling so fascinated but everyone travels and guts really in most to up and go. Happy riding x

Welcome Wayne. I am hoping in 2017 to ship my bike and get to ride in your neck of the woods. I want to ride Ireland & the UK. I am hoping to have 6-8 months over there.

Cheers people,
miniemojaz,
I'm hoping to get a few more European miles under my belt soon. I love travelling in any shape or form too. Can't get enough of it, but work and family keep me grounded for any very long trips.
becsta,
I may have a biased opinion, but some of the best biking roads in Britain are only 20 minutes from my doorstep. Let me know if you need any info on anything. I'm pretty well travelled in Wales & England. Haven't been to the Emerald Isle yet, and I have only touched briefly on Scotlands charms.

Thanks Wayne. When it is gets closer to the time I will be hitting up locals on here to provide me with the best riding roads.
I have started a google map with must see places so if you can let me know the must see places in Wales I can add them to my map.

Becsta, let me know your interests and I'll throw a few names your way.
I actually live alongside the first ever railway in the world where the first steam train ever ran (25 years before Stephensons Rocket) but there's not a great deal to see about it. If it was in the US there would be massive monuments and shops and pobably a theme park. People here can be quite reserved about their history.
Loads of castles, beaches, beautiful countryside, fantastic riding/driving roads, pretty villages, great, real ale pubs, stone circles, etc. I can recomend campsites and provide websites if you need them. Just let me know and I'll do my best to help :-)
Cheers

I want to see all of the above. I read a lot of historical fiction so am interested in seeing castles & stone circles. Of course good pubs are a must. I want to really immerse myself in the culture and heritage of the places I visit so will be interested in attending festivals and the like.
I am hoping to be riding from May till about November (or if the weather stops me earlier). I am not sure if I will be arriving in the UK straight away because if I have enough money saved I would love to ship into Turkey and do Gallipoli and then head up to the UK.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
