Mount Shasta now, Istanbul soon
I currently live in Northern California with great riding roads all around. Unfortunately, the season is ending and I'm looking at a long, cold winter. The bright side is that in June I'll be retiring and my Turkish wife and I will be relocating to Istanbul. I look forward to our new life there and hope to be able to continue riding. I dream of touring and seeing all the wonderful sites in Turkey and the surrounding countries. My biggest concern is finding another bike in Istanbul. I hear they are quit expensive and hard to find. Any information in this regard would help. I look forward to spending time on the Hubb and getting to know some of you. Also, let me know if you travel near here, I'll do all I can to help.

Merhaba Greg,
Welcome to HU
Bikes are % 30-40 more expensive in Turkey. But you have the right to import one for your personal use without any taxes..Lets keep in touch..
Will be glad to see you among us as a new member after June-2012.
If you will continue your business life, ok istanbul is the best..Otherwise I higly recommend you South West Anatolian towns by meditarrenean coastline.
Anymore questions about biking in Turkey, daily life, formalities, etc. are always welcome..you are an enişte now!!!
Wish you all the best and selamlar

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
