Hi All,
I recently met the Hubb admin from Uganda and he introduced me to the site, its pretty great!
I am planning to buy a 4x4 here in Kampala soon, and would like to drive it to South Africa in December.
I guess I have a few options:
1. Buy 4x4 in Kampala, get a carnet, drive it to SA, and then find someone who wants to do the reverse journey (I have no idea what a carnet in Uganda might cost)
2. Buy a car in SA, find someone to drive it up to here, and then I drive it back down
3. Buy a car in Kampala, drive it to SA, and import it into SA.
(this might be complicated and costly)
I have noticed many posts on Hubb and read almost all of them, but they mostly relate to motorbikes.
Is there anyone out there with some definitive(recent) advice??
Looking forward to getting to know the community, and would appreciate any/all advice!!
I am planning the drive to SA for December, and will try do it in about 25days...
Thanks all!
ciao.
