Azerbaijan with RHD Car
My experience
Entered Azerbaijan from Astara in Iran with my right-hand-drive Toyota.
No problems with RHD, nobody said anything about it.
BUT
You can only keep a car in for 72 hours unless you leave a full-value customs deposit at the border. But it's 72 hours, the exact time when you need to leave is printed on some form which they give you. Very friendly and hassle free border, car was not searched either side, no bribes requested.
Had to pay $15 road tax on Azeri side, legitimate, with recepit. Insurance not sold at the border, was told I could buy it at a petrol station, but didn't bother. Leaving to Georgia at Balakan was also very straightforward, no bribes / nonsense, though the car was properly searched.
So, from the Astara border at least, it IS possible to enter AZ with a RHD car.
BTW a 5-day transit visa costs $20 / $40 (sinle / double entry) in Tehran, same day service, just need a photo and photocopy of your passport.
