bike rental in Nepal
I'll be renting a bike in Nepal Apr 2014. I have contacted Bikemandu, and am also aware of BS motorcycle rental and tours. Has anyone had experience with either or both of these firms? Also,it would be nice to meet up with other riders. I should have a bike about the 19th or 20th Apr/14. Unfortunately,I only have 10 or so days, but, better than nothing.
Thanks Neil W

I rented a 500 cc. Royal Enfield at Bikemandu in november 2012, I kept it for 10 days while making a loop Kathmandu - Pokhara (and surrounding areas) - Bandipur - Chitwan Nat. Park - Hetauda - Kathmandu - Bakhtaphur - Kathmandu and I was very satisfied.
Very reliable bike and excellent service offered by Bikemandu.
Should I ever be back to Nepal, I'd surely rent at him again!
Greetz from northern Italy,

I have just finished a 13 day trip Kathmandu, Bandipur, Pokara, Tansen, Lumbini, Chitwan, Daman, Kirtipur, Nagarkot, Kathmandu on a 180 cc Bajaj Pulsar hired from the Motorbike and Mountain Bike Hire Centre almost next door to the Nepal Access Hotel in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. It cost me 14,000 rupees which is about US$150 for the 13 days hire. The bike didn't skip a beat and was ideal for the trip. I was able to overtake everything on the road, including the Enfield Bullets, and it handled the potholes and dirt roads just fine with my 90kg and about 20 kg of luggage. The hire fee included fitting my soft panniers and the wiring and cradle for my Garmin Zumo (using maps by NepalGPSmap) and taking them off again.
I'd highly recommend the bike, hire company, and the GPS maps.
I'm 195 cm tall and found the Pulsar to be much more comfortable for my long legs than the Bullet that I used to own the one I hired on a previous India trip.
