Chiang Mai Health Question

Hi! Can anyone help me with a medical question in Thailand? My husband and I are going to be in and around Chiang Mai for the month of February riding rental motorcycles. I would like to get some surgery done while I am there since I've been told that the hospitals are excellent.
I've tried emailing the Ram Hospital twice and can't get a reply from them. I would like to set up an appointment to have the surgery.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can connect with them? Or, recommend a dermotologic surgeon? The email I have for them came off their website:http:// THE SMART CHOICE FOR GLOBAL HEALTHCARE Ramkhamhaeng Hospital
Thanks for any help you can send my way!

A question at www.rideasia.net might lead to a result.

Creatabang-
I needed med. help too when I was there and the easiest method I found- enlist the services/help of a local Thai to save you the many headaches I went initially through as I could not speak Thai.
I'd ask the owner of the the B&B or a front office staff member at the hotel you have may have booked.

You are better off using the Bangkok hospitals such as Bumrungrad or Bangkok General Hospital. The doctors all speak English and most have trained in the States or other first world countries and are board certified in their specialties.

When I worked there in managed healthcare there were very few hospitals that we used, but these were two of them.

If the staff of the hospital do not speak English I suggest you give that establishment a wide berth unless you are in really dire straits.

When email is not responsive, direct tel calls sometimes work better.
The Ramkhamhaeng website "travel" page, [url=http://www.ramhospital.com/Travel.htm]THE SMART CHOICE FOR GLOBAL HEALTHCARE Home
includes a direct tel number in Bangkok +66/ 7831-8376.
The Bangkok facility can probably tell you how to contact/ tel the Chiang Mai facility

A Google search on "Thailand dermatologist" will get you a slew of website link/ options.
No personal experience.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
