Butchman,
A few years ago, 2004, I was in Shanghai and there was a group of bike riders with BMW. I never had the chance to finally meet them.
Was this your group? Does it exist any longer?
I will be going back to Shanghai again, probably early next year, and if this is still running I will like to get in contact with them.
I hope that I can get a reply from you.
Regards,
José

ZMC888,
Did you notice that that post was a year and a half ago?
Someone making a new post in an ancient thread instantly brings it back to the top of the list.
As a rule, one should look at the post date to see how recent information is.
For example, the issue of GPS being illegal in Russia keeps coming up because someone looks at a thread 5 years old. (It was illegal once, but has not been for a very long time.)

G'Day,
Yes, we have an active motorcycle club in Shanghai since 15 years and some of the original founder members are still around including myself.
We are not a one brand club, our mates own different types of bikes including Ducati, H-D, BMW, Yamaha, Honda, Triumph, Suzuki, Chang-Jiang, etc.
Throughout the last 6-8 years many different biker groups have been formed in greater Shanghai area and some focus on racing at the two Shanghai race circuits (Tianma Track / F1 Circuit), premium import bikes like HOG -Harley Owners Group Shanghai-, BMW Riders Group Shanghai, various Chang-Jiang Sidecar Riders Groups and the cheap as chips crappy China bikes owners. Even saw a huge group of modded scooters (50+ scooters) heading out of Shanghai yesterday towards Suzhou on the BeiQing highway (old Shanghai - Suzhou airport highway).
Ride Safe! Season's Greetings! BUTCHMAN

Thanks butchman, I mentinoned the BMW because it is what I remember from some of the pictures that I saw at the time, and, as I am a BMW man myself, it is what I remember better.
I hope that I get a chance to meet with you.

I like bike races, but I am not really into racing.
I enjoy riding with my bike in the circuits, you have a chance to really take all you can out of it in relative safety.
When I get there, I'll get in touch, for sure.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
