china to turkey

Hi,

I need some .

I am a new user in this site and I must say - it is a great one.
Anyway at first i thought of buying a bike in Mongolia riding inside the country for a few weeks and sell it, before i will leave the country.
But then I got ambitious and thought to myself - I have the time, the money and
the spirit why not buy a bike in china
(which i plan to be ,before Mongolia) and then ride into Mongolia, Russia
, Kazakhstan , Georgia and finally Turkey.

Am I Too ambitious ? Hopefully you would help me answer this question.
Can I buy a bike in china ( i have read some posts about it, and understand
that i buy a bike with insurance and papers tough i don't have chines driver license)
and enter with it into Mongolia, Russia...? I understand that i don't need a carnet for
Russia and Mongolia what about the rest?would i be able to obtain my visa from the road (especially to Russia which seems to cause much hassle ?)
As you can see I'm new at this and I don't have much experience , but this is part of the adventure which i am looking forward , so any comment , information and such will be of much help.

I haven't done this kind of journey leaving China on a Chinese bike, but tokyokid over at mychinamoto has done something similar, take a look at this thread.

It seems at least theoretically possible to get a temporary Chinese driving license, although in practice it might not be possible (I'm going to check this out and report back). If you are intending on doing limited mileage in China before entering Russia or Mongolia it is a slight calculated risk not having a license. Obviously the bigger the mileage in China you want to do, the better it would be to be fully legal. However previous experience has shown that having Chinese registration and the mandatory insurance that comes with it is probably OK 99.9% of the time, along with your home license and IDP as the cops can see you were trying to be legal, except for the unlikely event of an accident, where circumstances and Chinese police logic dictates the amount of money to be paid by each party. Registering the bike will also need for you to have a Chinese friend put the bike in their name using their ID card, so find someone you trust to do this and make sure you get a bill of sale to prove it's then your bike.

good luck getting the Chinese driving license.

Assuming I won't have Chinese driving license ,would I be able to leave china and enter Mongolia,Russia...?
what kind of documents will i need?

I have read tokyokid post , but it seems that he is a Chinese citizen
as I'm not a Chinese citizen I'm sure the procedures are different

china bike

i just did it in the other direction boucht a chinees crapbike just out of mongolia (erenhot) and drove it to bangkok . no driverlicence ore other paperwork . no licenseplaet . nothing . just buy and drive . 560 us $ for a brand new sunic 150cc engine ok al the rest is crap .

If you think about it how could 99% of Chinese nationals ride into the EEC?

Anyway, there isn't much difference, it is getting the vehicle out of China which is tricky, then getting it into somewhere else.

Like Samson says you could do it illegally with no paperwork.
Maybe you could go bungee jumping in Delhi!

I know what I'm talking about with Chinese driving law, but import/export I don't have any direct experience. Maybe spend more time on mychinamoto, look through some threads and ask the right questions, to people who have done these kinds of journeys before.

You shouldn't need a Chinese DL to get out of China, documents for the bike probably aren't needed as people are claiming that the bike is hand luggage. So obviously the cheaper the bike the easier it is to deal with.

the border

i never touch t i cud git it over the border in to laos but it al worked out . at thad time there was a prity polich girl whit us and she blinkd whit here eyes to the custom guys . and they let us trew . the only thing we hade was the receet off the bikes . on the lao side they sad they could not read the papers ( we give the bike manuel ) we replyed we couldend either , so on the road again . on the thai border they made a temporary inport paper, so we ended in Bkk where we where back rejoind whit our africa twins and whent on .
