Entering Bangladesh and Nepal on an Indian registered bike

I am off on a three month trip to India in January and hope to buy a bike there for the trip. Due to me getting an unexpected multiple entry visa I am now thinking of visiting Nepal and Bangladesh as well and was wondering what experience people had of doing this on an Indian registered bike which as I understand it will not be registered in my name but that of the previous Indian owner.
While talking about Bangladesh does anyone have experience of their visa on arrival, can a UK passport holder get one?

Gday Mark,

I'm not sure about Bangladesh, but Nepal I know about. For Nepal you simply rock up to the border, and get your visa. You will also have to go to a different office to get a visa for your bike. I think currently it costs about 150 Nepali rupees per day, for a maximum stay of 15 days ( Could be 1 month ). Which border are you planning to cross?

Thanks for that, I didn't think Nepal would be a problem and it looks like about a pound a day, no fixed plan yet but I will probably enter from the western side of the country.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
