Has anyone used Mukesh Motors, Karol Bagh, N Delhi?
I am considering buying a bike from them. They seem to give very good service and reply promptly to any Qs (with the same answer, but answer nevertheless).
Has anyone bought from them or have a bike shipped abroad?
(I did get a recommendation but it'll be good to know if he's well known and how it went for others.
I contacted Lalli but he doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for right now!
Thanks a lot
DD

To answer my own Q...
...In the hope that the info is of help to others.
I never bought a bike from Mukesh Motors in Carol Bahg, although I tried a 1966 RE and seemed very well put together and looked great. I know he has since sold it to someone in the UK.
During my stay in Delhi JP (the guy at Mukesh Motors) helped fact finding on other bikes I was interested in.
I bought an old RE from Ranjeet Motorcycles in Rishikes (another good dealer and a great mechanic) and toured with it around the North and Rajastan.
When I left Delhi I asked Mukesh if despite not buying his bike if he would export mine and I got a very competitive quote. I'm back and Mukesh is packing and exporting the bike for me. I'll let you know how it all goes but he has my full trust.
My only interest in this is to be fair to the guy, who has helped a lot just for the sake of building a good reputation and to point to others, in my experience, to a reliable dealer.

I also bought a bike from Mukesh Motors but way back in 2000. This bike was hardly the epitome of reliability but I would not put these guys down as out and out cheats based on my dealings with him.
There were two brothers running the show back in 1999/2000. As luck would have it I went back to Karol Bagh on business last year and met up with one of the brothers. He remembered I had gone with a blue Enfield and some of the trials I had experienced along the way. I have a suspicion the two brothers fell out but don't know any details.
In addition to the bullets, they export lots of Lambrettas to the UK and Europe and I've been asked by a number of potential buyers whether Mukesh are a legitimate outfit. I was surprised to read the comments of the website poster but can imagine anything is possible.
My experience was ok. Judge for yourself.
