India money question

HI guys , I will be going to India next Monday for few month, I am a bit concern about the money situation and do not like to carry tons of cash .
1)is it easy to change money ,should I take only small bill($20>$50) or do they take $100 bill also.
2)does the ATM system work well in India.

This will be my first time in India and my experience with ATM or $100 bill in many countries in SE Asia push me t ask these question.

Thanks for any help

I carry 50euro notes and have not had a problem getting
them changed, just bargin hard checkout XE.com - The World's Favorite Currency and Foreign Exchange Site
before changing any cash. As for ATM in most major cities,
but as I said I just use cash.

You shouldn’t have any problem locating an ATM in majority of the cities, especially if you are using credit card.

I agree, lots of ATMs everywhere. Money exchangers too.
Just make sure to get enough cash when you are entering areas like ladakh. Otherwise, every big and small city has solution to your problem.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
