Indonesia. South Sumatera or Jarkarta. New Brake Pads and new Front Tire
Hello,
We are in South Sumatera now and need new back brake pads and a new front tyre, best would be a Bridgestone TW301, 90 90 21´. (I guess in Indo there is only Pirelli and Bridgestone, and I think the TW301 fits better to our needs)
Our Bike is a Honda Africa Twin, RD07,1993.
Any Ideas for shops in the area? Best would be not directly in Jarkarta so we could avoid the “madness in Jarkarta”
THX for any Tips…
Cheers Sascha

Maybe in Yogyakerta?
Hi Sascha
We're in Yogyakarta - say 'Jogja' - Central Java right now; heading towards the Merak - Bakaheuni (Sumatra) ferry. Should be at the ferry terminal within the next week or so, which, by the most direct route, is about 650 km away.
I have a friend here in Jogja that may be able to steer you in the right direction. I'll ask him today. BUT are your pads and front tyre up to the job of getting you here, e.g. how worn are they?
BTW, do you want to meet-up for a somewhere?
All the best

The tyre and pads should make it to Jogja, I just thought the biggest chance to find something is in Jakarta...

PM received and replied to.
Dunno how to set-up a 'subscribe' facility - I've tried to establish one in the past, but never managed to get it quite right .. :confused1:
I'll post again very soon regarding my friend /contact here. He's well connected in the Jogja biking community, so I would be very surprised indeed if he cannot help.
See you soon

Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
