Iran to Pakistan
Dear All
I am currently in Esfahan and looking to cross the border in approx 1 week to 10 days. Is there any travlers out there looking to team up to get through the more difficult sections.
Or does anyone have up to date advise?
Thanks Stu

Hello,
I just did this way, from Shiraz until Islamabad in 6 days (in my small car, it was pretty tiring but i did it).
No particular problem.
Sometimes the police escorts you, sometines not. When they escort, ask them to go behind, it is much better for the view and for the speed. (they either go very fast or very slow otherwise).
I don t know the way you planned but leaving Quetta I advise a lot the road going to Loralai via Ziarat (if you spend night in Ziarat, spend night in Shalimar hotel for 200 Rupees, the boss is really nice).
Hey Tom, how are you doing since Jordan ? Where we met with that swedish, christmas trees selling bicyclist ?
See you
Etienne

Hello Etienne,
thanks for the greeting... Just sitting on the Iranian side in an CoffeeNet, preparing to cross the border to Pakistan in approx 2h... Guess you overtook me somewhere with your F1 Machine ;-)
Well, after travelling back from Jordan to Egypt, I made it through Saudi, UAE and all over Oman and south Iran. After we met - made about 16'000km in the meanwhile - hope to see you again on your way to India.
Guess will cross the border to India in approx 4 days. For SMS, use +41797058421 or tom@tomsride.net .
To Iran itself, did not have any problems at all the last few days. Gerat roads, cheap fuel, mostly nice people - a place to come again someday.
Hope Stuart made it also somehow, did not get any reply from him so far...
CU then somewhere...

Hi,
Etienne and I are currently cooking in the Tourist Camp in Islamabad. I'm off to the Indian border tomorrow, can't wait to get back up into the mountains to escape the searing heat. I'm sure we will all bump into each other in Kashmir or Ladakh somwwhere.
Cheers,
Peter.
