In Jaipur - Need suggestion on highways + stay with green gardens

Me and my group will be riding from Chandigarh to New Delhi and will take Delhi Jaipur Highway. We came to know about the Ajmer Highway which is almost 8 lanes and we want to cover it plus explore Pink city.

So guys it would be of great help if some one could share some details of Ajmer highway (like traffic, street light etc), must see places in Pink city and a nice place to stay in weekend where we can light up bonfire (money nit a constraint)

Ajmer Highway and the city of Jaipur

No doubt that Ajmer Highway is one of the finest roads in north India as it covers up a 150+ km journey from Jaipur to Ajmer in 1 hour 30 mins. So you should try it out. The high conditions is great and street light are well maintained because this highway also covers commercial logistic of Kishangarh which is a city popular for stones and marbles.

And in Jaipur there are a lot of things you can explore on your bikes like Amber fort, Jal Mahal, Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh fort. All these are in Amer side which is eastern Jaipur.

Then you should ride to pink city area which has City palace, Jantar mantar and Hawa Mahal and in the end you should visit Choki Dhani village.

Plus as you are exploring the Ajmer highway then I will also suggest you to travel till Pushkar which is just 20 kms from Ajmer. Though the roads here are not that smooth as you will find them till Ajmer.

Hope I was able to assist plus if you need any info on highways of Rajasthan feel free to message. I am from Jaipur.

We can assist

Now as for the Ajmer highway, the condition has always been good as it comes under central government, not the state.

Plus in Jaipur you can see some amazing heritage sites like Amber fort, Hawa Mahal (all mentioned above) but I will also suggest some new destinations like Bhanagrh & Abhaneri which are like 100 km away from the city and are worth visiting. So for a complete jaipur tour I will suggest you to lend 3 days as then you can see all the places inside and nearby.

As you are driving from Delhi to Ajmer, then you also have time for a one week Rajasthan tour by car. You can search for Rajasthan car rental firms in Jaipur which can arrange trips to cities like Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and then visit Ajmer and Pushkar. All cities are well connected with National Highways and trip to one city to anther is not more than 4-5 hours.

For example, Delhi to Mandawa is 232 km (5 hour), Mandawa to Bikaner is 193 km (3- hour), Bikaner to Jaisalmer is 330 km (6 hours), Jaisalmer to Jodhpur is 286 km (5 hours) and Jodhpur to Ajmer is 205 km (3 hours). Estimated days for this road trip is 7 days and you can hire cars like dzire and Innova for 2-6 people.

For accommodation, some of the best hotels are Samode Palace & Haveli and Rambagh & they both have nice gardens where you guys can enjoy bonfire.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
