crossing from Iran to Pakistan
Hello everybody!
We are a family travelling in Asia in our van.
After lost of attemps of getting pakistani visa in our way finally we have decide to send the passports to our country because it´s impossible to take in other places than yours, but now we have to decide how to get into Pakistan.
We have two options: crossing Afganistan from north of Irán and the cross the Khyber pass or get into by Taftan and cross Baluchistan.
The problem is that we are travelling with on little kid and don´t want to take any extra-risk. We think the second option is better but somepeople has told us that afters the flows of September 2012 the road to Quetta has been destroy, and now is not possible to do it in one day from the border to Dalbandin and other day from this place to Quetta. We did it five years ago and it was ok without any problem but now, if the road is not good conditios, is not going to be possible to do it like that with our old car that is not 4wd, and we don´t want to be half way in the middle of the nigth...
Please, we need update information (we are going to cross on April) about the condition of the road and, if anyone has recentlly cross thought Khyber pass, how is the process of the Afridi escolt and how long does it takes. Also the condition of the road Herat-Kabul.
Thank you very much!
