Myanmar overland
I know there are many threads on the topic, but just trying to keep it active and stay on top of latest info. Wanting to drive across from Thailand to India at the beginning of 2015. Any advice from people currently doing it or in the future would be great. Permits, travel agency used, cost?
Cheers

Hey guys
Thought I'd jump in on this one as my wife and I will be arriving in Singapore early feb and heading for the UK via Burma and Iran.
We'll be travelling in my LR Defender so no bikes I'm afraid but definitely up for splitting the costs across either or both of them. We can always take the guide with us on board too
Send me some details of when you're anticipating heading there and I can l let you know what we've found so far,
Ben

Hi Guys, I'm also looking to do Myanmar sometime early in 2015. In the Planning stages for a Melbourne to England trip starting in August. Going solo but more than happy to join forces along the way, especially for the Myanmar crossing. Anyone contacted one of the Myanmar guys for tour details? I've seen some good posts so can send links, etc if ya want.
Cheers,

We are leaving Australia in October. Haven't contacted an agent yet as it is difficult to workout how long we will take to reach Myanmar. I have Tins details but other posts here list cheaper options. It seems it is becoming much Cheaper!

Really interested to see where you go with this one as we're intending to cross around March 2015 and also heading from Aus to the UK. At this stage I've got a couple of quotes but they're looking mighty expensive at $5k for 9 days!
Any extra advice would be welcome,
Ben

Hi Everyone,
Still planning Aus to UK trip, now starting a bit later, hopefully early Sept. Planning to do Myanmar early 2015 (Jan or Feb). Another couple (overland15) are planning same either March/April.
Keen to join forces with anyone traveling at that time.
We have a couple of quotes from Tin ( Bright View Travels & Tours) and Mutu ( Welcome to : Myanmar Expert Travel and Tours Co., Ltd.). Can forward details if you want.
Cheers, Rob.

Hi Everyone,
We are also hoping to travel in Myanmar inFebruary or early March 2015. We want to do a round trip entering and exiting to Thailand. Hoping to go one way to Indian border with one group and return with another. We probably have 2 groups interested both in 4WD campervans.
Regards
Barbara

share quotes, ideas etc. and hopefully find some compatible travellers
Myanmar-2015@googlegroups.com to request to join.

Great to see there's so many people coming together for Myanmar in early 2015!
I'm planning to do it around March, will be in SEA from Mid January, so also looking to get into India this way. However, depending on the bike I''ll get I may be interested in doing a loop and returning to Thailand as well, then fly to Nepal...
Looking forward to see how this develops!
