We actually got into Nepal without a carnet, we just told the border guard we did not need one, we even filled out the registry book for him, and he let us straight in. Not sure if they will let us out again though...time will tell..and its all part of the fun.
India could be more difficult, and getting the carnet for 3 bikes is going to cost 12k and take 6 weeks. Im trying to find out if there is a way in if we just turn up. possibly leave a deposit with customs. As we did for one bike when entering Russia (complicated story).
