Manten, I removed the 'sometimes' just for you! As you say, the right tool for the right job... but maybe the poster's 'job' is not so much to get from point A to point B, but to build memories that last a lifetime.
When he's old and toothless in his rocking chair, which memory is going to bring a smile to his face: a perfect ride on a Yamazaki XYZ, or a, shall we say, flawed tour on a beat-up old Enfield?
I've toured India on an Enfield. If I were to tour a second time in India, I'd want a Japanese single... but I'll always be able to look back and tell people that I toured India the 'classic' way.
