Shipping a car out of India
Hi all
Currently we are travelling through India in our Landcruiser, having driven all the way from the UK. After India, we want to get the car past Burma into the rest of SE Asia - but don't want to take it through China. This leaves shipping the car to Thailand in a container, unless there are any ferries? I am assuming it would need to be shipped from Chennai or Kolkata.
Am also toying with the idea of shipping the car directly from India to Vladivostok in Russia and travelling through SE Asia with public transport, before flying up to Vladivostok and collecting the car to drive back west.
Does anyone know the costs, procedures etc for doing any of this?

Hi we are also in India in our Land Rover in Amritsar Mrs B's.
We are shipping with Inter freight from Madras in Febuary-March time. they seem profecional enough and a lot of overlanders have used them with good resaults.
Heres the web address Interfreight Services Pvt Ltd
They seem to answere the emails quickly and as for cost then for Aus its around 1200 stirling with all port fees concidered but it changes with desternation time and date.
Where are you now and will you be in Goa for christmas?

Thanks for that. I also managed to find this:-
India 2
in case it's of any interest.
Where are we? We crossed to Amritsar in October and did the Manali-Leh highway, then spent over a month in Kashmir. Now we are in Delhi and then plan to go east - no plans to go to Goa, though.
