Lightbulb Southern Indian border with Pakistan - The Khokhrapar-Munabao crossing

Overland from Mumbai to Karachi - without having to go through the northern Wagah / Atari border - might just become reality when the Khokhrapar-Munabao landborder crossing is opened.

India looking at opening two border points with Pakistan

The southern Iran / Pakistan border at Jiwani will most likely remain a pipe dream for the years to come.

Cheers!

I hope it happens this time. BTW theoretically Muzaffarabad/Srinagar and Chamb border is also open with busses and trucks crossing.

Muzaffarabad/Srinagar is only for Pakistani/Indian citizens unfortunately :-(

'Chamb' border - where is that? Google drew a blank.

You are right. Wagah is the only working border for foreigners. Although the Chakothi border is supposed to be operational for locals, I dont know a single person who could go on this short journey.

The other working border for the locals is probably Chamb/Rawalakot border. This is also only theoretically open for locals but a few trucks are passing with tomatoes and onions.

I hope it will improve, costs nothing to be optimistic.
Cheers

Only Wagah Border is open these days even for locals. Muneebrao border is for train which is also not operating these days.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
