Trip to Rajasthan - need to know the condition of NH

Though the condition of National Highways in Jaipur and nearby cities have improved but are they same for other cities of the state? Have planned a 15 day road trip, starting from New Delhi and will finish at Patan, near Udaipur. Want to know that roads are good for bikers?

Hi sir,

Road conditions for all the key cities in Rajasthan are excellent. For example, if you are traveling from Jaipur to Pushkar, then you have NH 48 & 448 which is a six-lane national highway. From Pushkar to Jodhpur, I would suggest:
1. NH 58 to Merta
2. Then NH 158 till Lambiya
3. NH 65 A till Jaitaran
4. And finally NH 25 to Jodhpur.

Here is map screenshot

The reason I am suggestion a new 30 km additional route for Jodhpur is that the shorter one is the state highway which is not as good as National Highways. So on any National Highway in Rajasthan or nearby state, you won't it difficult to drive. Plus if you need other transportation services then I would suggest you search them in Jaipur, not Delhi.

Plus I would suggest this route to you will be New Delhi - Alwar - Bhangarh - Abhaneri (Chand Baori) - Jaipur - Ajmer & Pushkar - Mandawa - Bikaner - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Bundi - Chittorgarh - Kumbhalgarh - Udaipur - Ranakpur - Mount Abu and Patan which you suggested as your last spot.

So for a 15-day trip, the above cities are more than enough. But if you can make it a 20-day trip then there are some hidden gems on this route from New Delhi to Patan Via Rajasthan.

Feel free to ask any question on your Rajasthan trip. I will be more than happy to revert.

Regards,
Raj

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
