I've heard of quite a few people having trouble getting their Pakistani visas outside their own country, one chap famously flew back to the UK from Romania (or was it Turkey?) to get his from the London Pakistani embassy.

One option is to do what I did, apply for a second passport (you can have two British passports), leave one at home to get all stamped up while you're out touring, then have it fedexed on to you.

Indian visa in Pakistan was no problem for all the people I met along the way. I think most people get it from the embassy in Islamabad as it has a 6 month time limit from the day of issue.

Seems people liked to apply for the visa, ride the KKH and then pick the visa up again on the way back through to India. I know of only British and Germans who have done this but I assume it is the same for most westerners! There is always a percentage of risk with these things but here it seems pretty low.

The Nepali visa you get on the border. Easiest visa you will ever get but you can read: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ing-fuel-40635

if you're worried about that one! Good luck with the ride and don't worry too much, seems to all work out in the end!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
