Visa extension in Pakistan

Sorry for starting another thread on Pakistan but I just hoped someone could shine some light on visa extensions.

The issue is I ony have a ten day visa but will need to stay around three weeks before my paperworks complete for China. I've read I can extend in Islamabad and wondered if this is a certainty or a question of chance?

Cheers

No personal experience of this but these guys mention that is is possible to extend for up to 90 days on page 3 of the LOI info.

Thumbs up

I was in the same boat 2 years ago and got an extension without too much drama in Quetta. I may even have a waypoint for it. I didn't even have a tourist visa, but a visit visa, which raised a few eyebrows.

Cheers,
Peter.

Its very easy in Gilgit...speak to Mr. Yaqoob at the Medina Hotel...he'll sort it out.

In Peshawer i got mine done fairly rapidly...have the usual collection of photocopies of visa and passport ready because the electriciity there is on and off through out the day. It was also a fairly simple morning job.

We got ours extended in Islamabad in Sep 07 no problem at all. It was free and the distinct impression given was that (at least the first extension) was something all tourists could get as a matter of course.

If you want the address, let me know. I can see the building in my mind now!

Thanks guys,

That's a big relief as there looks likley to be a hold up getting into China what with the protests.

Even if I can get an extra fortnight or so I should be ok.

As for getting into China it's easy. You just bend over, touch your toes and let bureaucracy give you one in the ass. I don't know what others are paying but for a 10 day crossing with Stan Tours I'm paying close on $2.5KUS which is ridiculous, but having waited 3 months or more to hear about Iran visa - and being British - I've sort of given up on that idea. And I really wanted to avoid flying again.

Thanks again
Nathan
