Motto Guzzi Stelvio NTX

I am considering to replace my 2006 BMW 1200GS with the MG Stelvio NTX. I have done a lot of reading about the bike and so far I mostly like what I read and I am planning a test ride sometimes next month. There is one thing however that scares me off a bit a stated fuel consumption of 7.5 l/100 km. Now this is quite a bit for this size/type of a bike, I am getting as low as 4.5 l/100 on my 1200GS if I take it easy.
Is there a Stelvio NTX owner out there who can comment on this?
Cheers,

As a Guzzi 1200 Sport rider I'm getting 45-50 mpg from my 2 valve engine. The 4 valve version in the Stelvio should return similar mpg.

Is this 45-50 mpg US gallon or imperial? If US, that wouldn't be too bad...

FlyingDoc is a Brit so it has to be the worse figure, from your point of view!

I've done the maths based on the lower figure of 45 MPG (Imp) and it equates to very nearly 10 miles per litre which equates to 6.3 litre/100 Km so you are doing very well to achieve 4.5l/100 which is near enough to 60 MPG (Imp) without even using a calculator!
But all that "taking it easy" can become very tedious Those I know riding a 1200GS get around 42 MPG (Imp).

Club Info.

There's a test report and feed back on the Stelvio on the club forum in UK: www.motoguzziclub.co.uk/forum

Click on, "What motorcycle should I get?" and it's on page 2. Lindsay.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
