KTM is a marketing dinosaur and looks like it will be suffering the same fate.
I have two KTM bikes, a 690 Enduro R and a 790 Adventure. The one thing that totally turns me off the brand is KTM's ' Ready to Race' logo. Although the logo may be well suited to the motocross and enduro models, it has no place in travel, sports tourer and dual sport model groupings.
My bikes are both classed as travel, yet when I look them up on KTM's web site, the main photos are boy racers doing power slides (790) and wheelies (690).
Does the company really think that helps sell the bikes to people who are looking for a 'travel' bike?
[Having said that, I am mildly interested in the possibility of the KTM 690 Rally model which looks like a rework of the Husky 701LR, but why has it taken more than a decade to react to travel needs?]
