British Solo women riders

Hi All
I'm doing some research on how many British women have gone around the world solo. The only Brit I know of is Elspeth Beard. Can anyone help? I am setting off in March and its interesting to read of others who have been before you. I am pretty sure I will be the first Welsh woman (although please prove me wrong) and certainly the first to carry a pink clanger all the way around the world (my co pilot kindly provided by my warped friends!!)

Any info would be much appreciated.

Elspeth was the first Brit in the early to mid 1980's on an R60/6, Tiffany has possibly been to more countries than any other female traveller, Brit or otherwise.

I think the pink clanger could be a first, don't forget plenty of soup, there are no soup dragons out there

Not sure if she has done RTW but heard here speak about Africa and North/South America on her own.

Cynthia Milton

Cynthia Milton was on her RTW motorcycle trip when Xfiltrate and I met her in Peru, in 2005, I think. We were about 100km from Cuzco, driving away, when we crossed each other. We stopped, she stopped, we greeted each other. I was amazed to see a woman when she took off her helmet. We made a coffee on the side of the road and share our stories. It was my first motorcycle trip, from Buenos Aires to San Pedro de Atacama, Lima, Central Andes of Peru, Bolivia and back to Buenos Aires, on a Tornado 250. She was the first woman I met riding solo, and riding around the world. She was truly inspiring for me!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
