Well, I think it may have been down to a low battery in my multimeter. Was doing some work on my other bike and it was also saying 15V but came back to 13.4 with a new PP9 . So being a duffer I had forgotten about that and stripped the XT down, cleaned up the RR mount and earth connections . Started it up, about the 14V mark. How pleased was I ???? And then I remembered.
