As others have pointed out the biggest downer is the weight. There's no getting around the fact that 183kg is heavy for a 48bhp single cylinder bike. KTM's 640 Adventure is listed as 158kg, and has a 25.5L fuel tank.....

The KTM has to be the benchmark at 158Kg - lets see what they do with their 690 Adv which is definitely in the pipeline for 2008 - all rumour and speculation (and even better information) says so  .
Thereafter, price will be an influence, as ever.
Overall, 2008 will be a good year for Dual Sport/Adv bikes!
ps Not sure about judging the quality of components from a picture - I guess the Yamaha bolts will fur after one winter, if not before.
