Since buying my 3AJ Tenere 18 months ago, I have found this forum invaluable as many others have...
I thought I would mention a few of the modifications I have made and where I obtained the parts etc. by way of information to any other listeners looking to do the same.
Exhaust:
I fitted an Arrow silencer 72008PD ordered from B&C Express (arrived the next day - not bad for a part for a 20 year old bike).
It bolted straight on very easily. It is slightly louder than standard - in a pleasing way. Also has a removable baffle for more sound - which I haven't tried. I did not rejet the carbs, might need to do so if you remove the baffle...

The silence is marked 'Not For Road Use' which is hidden under the side panel when fitted and I assume this applies because the baffle can be removed. With the baffle in place it is only slightly louder than std. It passed it's MOT with no problems (baffle in).
I replaced the black painted down pipes with a stainless steel set from Motad, part no TY6X, which again bolted straight on. I bought them from a dealer on ebay, but any Motad dealer should be able to get them.

So if anyone is wondering about compatibility, I can safely say the Arrow silencer 72008PD and the Motad header pipes TY6X both bolt straight on to the 3AJ Tenere with no modifications or clearance difficulties!
Crash Bars.
I was surprised to find Hepco & Becker still make a set of crash bars for the 3AJ which also provide a degree of protection to the fuel tank.
I ordered these through Moto-Bins, the UK importer and they arrived in about two weeks. They are nicely made and came with all nuts & bolts required to bolt straight on.

Foot pegs.
I had been looking for some wider footpegs and was sure some for another Yamaha dirt bike would fit but was unsure which, then someone posted on here that they got some for their later model XT600 from D2moto in the US which were listed for the Yamaha TW200. I bought some and they fit perfectly, they were cheap at less than $20, I think they worked out at around 20 UK pounds delivered to the UK. Bargin.
