4PT rear shock
Hey Everybody! Me and the missus have a 4PT each, but she hardly rides hers, whereas I commute and ride a lot. Her bike feels springy and new (10000 miles on the clock), whereas mine doesnt (20000 miles on the clock) I'm also a lot heavier than my wife. What can I do to get the spring back in the bike? Is there a shock upgrade for the 4PT model? Is there a heavier duty spring avalible? Hagon has a whole new unit, for about 300 quid. Anyone got any ideas that arnt so expensive? With thanks

Hagon make adjustable shocks for the XT600E...
Tell them your weight, riding style and they will put the correct spring on for you too..
In your pricerange too.

Also, there is a brand out there call "TMX"...
They were previously known as "Technoflex" but were bought by GM and renamed to "TMX"...
They can even make you a custom build one...but it also ain't cheap....

Wilbers makes some for 200-400ish euro depending on the model.
I have yet to find a supplier for xt springs.
Have you tried to tighten up the preload on the spring? It should help.

Dave Lambeth sells springs for XT stock rear shocks in various strength's/load ratings. Failing that you could have one made to order.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
