Arrow 660 raptor parts/ xtz660

ok, so my poor old xtz660 is still not up an running after it was taken out by a truck in the streets of sydney( 8 months ago )... i rode this bike rtw in 04 so found it hard to let the old girl go....
my question is,
can i use the raptor 660 head with titanium valves ect to replace the original in my xtz660, rumor has it this is possible as they are virtually the same motor.
any info on this would be great....phil.

Exclamation It fits

Hi,

as far as I know is the top end simular to the Raptor. I even have a Raptor conrod in my XTZ engine. The gearbox is of course different because your XTZ has no reverse gear. I guess the raptor has maybe a higer compression piston in. The carbs are also different.

regards

Thomas

raptor carb

Couldn't say about the head but I have a raptor carb on my xt 600 and all I can say is it runs better and stronger than when it was new. One of the best mods I've ever done.

Is the raptor carb an easy fit? Is it a single carb or Tekei twin? What manifold?
Thanks Neil

raptor carb

raptor carb is not really a direct bolt on, but it doesn't really take to much. They are a dual progressive carb set up. I tried to decribe the prosess on another thred near this one.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
